Two photon set-up

The running project at Nijmegen now is to assist PhD-student Laurens Kirkels MSc who is investigating tuning-curves of cortical cells. Here we also make use of the two-photon setup. Two photon microscopy is a fascinating process. (There is a good WIKI about it). It needs quite some fancy equipment and quite some luck too. The ultimate goal is to unravel the workings of live neural networks. (not the artificial ones, that ‘s the work of our neighbours). This work is performed under supervision of Prof. Dr. R.J.A.W. van Wezel.
